Duties and
Responsibilities:
Physical
therapists help patients restore bodily functions, prevent permanent
disability, and relieve pain after an injury or illness. Therapists apply different
treatments like traction and heat, cold, light, and water. They also help patients
use prosthetic and othotic appliances. Physical therapists work in hospitals, nursing
homes, rehabilitation centers, schools, and physicians' offices.
Average
Salary: $25,000 - $45,000
Educational Requirements:
Those who
would like to become a physician therapist should take the most challenging
high school math, science, and English courses. To be a licensed physical
therapist, most states require students to earn a master's degree and pass a
certification examination.
I don't think
I would like to be a physical therapist because I want to be a chemist or
biologist and work in a laboratory. This career really doesn’t catch me
attention.
