Student Success Statement

"Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there." - Bo Jackson

I think this quote is pretty simple, its trying to say that you need to set your goals high and big and that you shouldn't give up on your dreams until you are able to accomplish them. For example if you want to go to a good university you must not give up even if you can't go straight to university go to community college and then enter university. You must not give up on your dreams. If you always give up on your dreams you will never accomplish anything in life. Point is don't stop until you accomplish all the goals you  have set high.

Student Success Statement

I believe this quote means that as long as you have the mind set of wanting to accomplish as much as you can you will be accomplishing those things and as long as you have the ambition to get farther in life as well. If you don't think you will be able to accomplish things you won't accomplish things. You need to believe you can do something to actually be able to do it. If you start doubting yourself you won't be able to get far. You need to go for what you want and let anyone put in your mind that you can't do it or let your mind think that. If you start letting your mind tell you that you can't go far in life, you won't. For example if you want to go to an Ivy League university you can't let your mind tell you that you can't and you can't start doubting that you can't do it. As long as you try as hard as you can to go to that university and you truly believe you can accomplish it you will.

I think this quote means that you can always keep going in life. There is no point in life were you can say that you can't accomplish more. THere will always be more to accomplish in life. I think it is also trying to say that the more things you have in your mind the more things you will accomplish. For example when Michael Phelps went to his first olympics he didn't say that he accomplished his goal of going to the olympics and that he was done accomplishing things. He checked going off to the olympics, but he kept on going to the olympics because he knew he could accomplish more. He went on to beat swimming records and on the last olympics he became the person with the most olympic medals. The point is that you are never really done in life there will always be more things you can accomplish.

"Try a little harder to be a little better." -Gordon B. Hinckley 

I think this quote means that if you try a little harder when you're doing something it will come out better. In order to become better you must also try harder. For example if you are going to have a test if you want to do better than your last test you should try harder by studying your notes and asking the teacher any questions you might have. If you never try harder in something you will  always stay the same instead of  bettering yourself. You need to try harder every time its the only thing you can do to better yourself.

Medical Illustrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical illustrators are highly skilled artists that work strictly in the medical field. They create graphics for textbooks, journals, magazines, and educational films. Some prepare illustrations that aid in research or creation of artificial body parts and could also be called upon to use modeling skills to create artificial body parts for patients who have undergone some surgeries or are deformed.

Average Salary:  $35,000 - $50,000

Education:

Students who would like to become a medical illustrator should take college preparatory classes that emphasize in art and science. In college students should major in art and minor in science or major in science and minor in art. Many medical illustrators have a master’s degree in the field. To become certified you must have a graduate degree in medical illustration, a portfolio review, and a successful completion of a national examination.

I don’t think I would like to become a medical illustrator because this career is not for me because I am not very good at art.

I believe this quote means that if you want to achieve success you must start doing excellent work because if you don't you won't be able to achieve the success you want to accomplish. If you want to be excellent in something start doing excellent work since that moment. If you don't do excellent work then the excellence you won't be able to achieve the excellence you wanted to. For example if you want to do good in math class you need to start paying attention to the lesson to be able to understand the lesson and do all the work and if you need any help ask classmates or the teacher.
You need to try very hard to get the excellence you wish to achieve,
You just can't say that you want to achieve excellence you also must
do the steps and work that takes to achieve it. You can say you want
excellence all you want. but if you don't do it all the things you say
won't matter at all.

 

Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical assistants assist physicians and nurses give patient care. They make appointments, take blood pressure, respirations, and temperatures and perform other pre-examining procedures. Sometimes they may help with office and clerical tasks. Medical assistants may work in hospitals, clinics, and private physicians’ offices.

Average Salary: $17,000-$18,000

Education:

Students who would like to become a medical assistant should complete high school with courses in biology, physical science, office management, communications, and human relations. Training programs though may accept a GED certificate. Training programs are provided in community colleges. They may take between six months and two years to complete.

I don’t think I would like to become a medical assistant because I’m more interested in a higher position that requires more education and a career in biology major.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Duties and 
Responsibilities:

A LPN has to record the history of the patient among other things. They also have to give medication, take vital signs, basic wound care, and immunizations. Some other duties often include moving the patient carefully and monitoring fluid and food intake and output. They often work with patients in nursing homes and rehabilitation centers as well besides hospitals and clinics.  

Average Salary: $35,663 - $49,649

Education:

Students who would like to become a LPN must have a high school diploma or a GED. They must be able to pass a drug test and then pass a criminal background check.  Afterwards they must complete a training program and obtain a license.

I wouldn’t like to become a LPN because it doesn’t really interest me and I want a career in the biology field and I really wouldn’t want to become a nurse.

I believe this quote means that you need to prepare to be able to win. For example you could say you want to do good on a test, but if you don't study you won't pass it. You need to have the will to study to pass the test because you could say "I'm going to pass that test" but if you don't prepare for it then you won't pass it. Another example is like if you say you want to go to a good university, you can say it all you want, but if you don't get the good grades or take the necessary steps to go to university you will end up not going.  You should have the will to win, but in the end all the matters is how well you prepared.

Paul Bear Bryant

Paul "Bear" Bryant was an American college football player and coach. He was born into a poor family. He began his football career in high school.Bryant got an athletic scholarship to attend Alabama. Bryant was best known for being the longtime head coach of the University of Alabama football team. During his time as head coach of Alabama he amassed six national championships and thirteen conference championships. He held the record for most wins as head coach in college football with 323 wins. he became a symbol of strength and moral righteousness as much as success.  

Industrial Hygienist 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Industrial hygienists have to find effective methods to identify, manage, and control risks that have to do with natural disasters, material accidents, and terrorism events. They are vital to government agencies, private response organizations, and local emergency planning committees. They also prevent ill health caused by the work environment. Industrial hygienists should be committed to protecting the health and safety of the people in the workplace and the community.

Average Salary:  $56,904- $101,434

Education:

Students who would like to become an industrial hygienist should take challenging science courses in high school. Students should have an undergraduate degree in one of the sciences or engineering. They have to pass a written examination from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

I don't think I would like to become an industrial hygienist because it doesn’t seem really interesting for me and I rather work in a laboratory.

I think this quote means that one person has to start doing the right and the others will soon follow and unite to also do what is right to benefit each other and the community and maybe even more people. For example at at a school activity during lunch there is a game and one person joins in it will cause others to join in as well. We need to unite to be able to help each other out and accomplish things that will benefit everyone in a community in a city or in the world.

Home Health Aide

Duties and Responsibilities:

Home health aides prepare and serve simple modified diets. They help perform simple household tasks. They also assist with medication. They measure and record vital signs. They help them with exercise programs. A home health aide enables patients to be able to stay home by monitoring and recording the patient’s condition. They have to maintain a healthy and safe environment for the patient.  

Average Salary: $20,820 - $29,250

Education:  

There aren’t any formal education requirements for those who want to become a home health aide. Home health aides who work in certified home health agencies must get formal training and pass a standardized test.

I don't think I would like to become a home health aide because I want a career working in a laboratory and I don't think I would want to take care of people for a career.
