"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right." -Dean Smith

I believe than Dean Smith is trying to say is that he wasn't trying to have all those moments were people applauded him, he was trying to make his good player into something greater, but not only make them good players but also good people in the inside, in their hearts. For example when you have to do a project you do the project creative an unique not because you want the teacher to show it off, you do it because you want the best grade you can get.

"CTR connects you to happiness and success. CTW disconnects you." - Mr. Haymore

I believe this quote means that if you choose the right you'll be happy, your conscience will feel good, you'll be successful. If you choose the wrong you'll have negative things in your life happen to you. You won't be happy if you choose the wrong you'll feel the opposite of how you would feel if you choose the right. For example if you do your homework and you turn it in on time you'll feel good and you'll get a good grade. If you don't do it and you don't turn it in you'll feel bad because you would have to stay for detention and gets points off your homework.

"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." - Aristotle

I believe this quote means that if you get educated, but are not  able to be grateful, share your education for the better, and remember what it took to get there all the education you got for your mind won't matter. For example if you become a successful doctor you have to remember the hard work that took to get there and not be stuck up.

"Choosing the right is always the right thing to do." - Alex LInares

I believe this quote means that you always have to do what you know is right. Its telling us that you ALWAYS have to do the right not most of the time, or once in a while, but ALWAYS. FOr example if your friends ask you every single day to smoke something you should choose the right and say no , but if one day you give in it would be doing the wrong, instead you've said no and find new friends. If your friend forgot to do their homework and you never let them before copy and you say since you've never let her/him copy it wouldn't matter if you let them just once but you have to choose the right and not let them.

"It's better to be alone than to be in bad company." - ANON

I believe this quote means that its better to be by yourself than be friends with people are not choosing the right and might want to drag you into doing the bad to. For example if you have this group of friends who like to smoke it is better to be by yourself because if you keep hanging out with them they might want to make you smoke to and you might go on to making more wrong decisions so it would be better for you to be by yourself that way you won't have nobody pressuring you into doing things or find a better group of friends who do chose the right.

" You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
                                                       - Ezra T. Benson

Ezra Taft Benson.jpgI believe this quote means that if you choose the wrong you won't feel good afterward, you'll feel guilty. For example if you let your friend copy your homework at first you might say that you were just helping a friend, but then when you actually think of it letting her/he copy was choosing the wrong and you'll have it in back of your mind that you might get caught and both have to pay negative consequences.

"I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our conscience." - Robert E.                             Lee

I believe this quote means that even if it hurts sometimes to do the right you should still do the right thing because if you don't your conscience will feel guilty afterwards. If it hurts to do the right at first after you'll probably feel good and your conscience will also feel good. For example if your best friend tells you to smoke something but you know its the wrong thing to do and you say no and then they tell you that if you don't do so they won't be your friend anymore you should still choose the right and say no. Yes you might lose a so called friend, but                                                                                        you'll feel good that you stood up for                                                                                              what was right.

"Tell me what is right and I will fight for it." - Woodrow Wilson

I believe this quote means that if you are told what is right then you should always fight to do the right and let yourself be won over  by the wrong. You have to stand up for what you know is right. For example if you know that smoking pot is bad and you know that the right thing to do is not smoke it and your friends try to pressure you into smoking it, you don't do it because you know you're supposed to do the right and resist.

The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character."
                                                 - Margaret Chase Smith

I believe this means that sometimes doing the right is sometimes not popular because people might get in trouble for doing the wrong, but it better to stand for the right because if you don't you'll be doing the wrong as well. for example if you say one of your classmates take something from the teacher and they see that you saw them take it and try to pressure you into not saying anything you still should say the truth to the teacher and make that person pay for what he did wrong. It wouldn't be the most popular thing to do at the time because you would be getting someone in trouble, but it would be the right thing to do that way they could face their consequences of doing the wrong. If your friends try to persuade/pressure you into doing something that you know is wrong you should chose the right and not do it even though they might call you names or not want to be your friends anymore it better to chose the right and leave even though it would be easy because they're your "friends".
