"I will persist until I succeed"                                                  -Og Mandino

I believe this quote means that you must not give up on your goals until you accomplish them. You must not give up on your goals because then you will start giving up on everything and you will never be really successful. You must be able to persist and not let failure bring you down, failure should help you to be better and make you want to accomplish your goals even more. You need to try and try again until you succeed. You must be able to persist to be successful because nothing in life comes easy. For example if you have a C in class and you want to raise it up to an A maybe on the next report card you won't have an A, maybe you'll just have a higher c, but you must be able to keep trying and doing the best you can and soon that C would become a B and then an A, but it won't happen if you aren't able to persist on trying to get that A.

I don’t think I would like to become a perfusionist  because it really don’t interest me and  because I think I rather work in a laboratory.

Student Success Statement

"Nothing in the world can take the place of PERSISTENCE.
TALENT will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
GENIUS will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
EDUCATION will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "Press On'
has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
           - President Calvin Coolidge

I believe this quote is trying to say that if you don't have the persistence to keep going in life no matter if you are talented or genius or educated or not you will be a failure. Persistence is what gets you to where you want to go, it gets you to success because success never comes easy. You may have a talent, but someone else may have the talents as well and if you want to be successful with the talent you won't give up on it, you'll have the persistence to keep on going until people recognize your talent. For example many are great singers and many record labels tell them no, but if they don't give up in the end they find a record label that wants to sign them on and then they become number one artists and those other record labels that said no start to regret it. This reminds me of another quote which says that what really matters is the climb to success, everything you had to do to be successful.
Patient Representative

They work for healthcare administrators to address the concerns and special needs of patients and their families. Patient representatives evaluate patient satisfaction, investigate complaints, collect information on patient dissatisfaction, and work with departments to resolve patient problems and educate staff. Students who would like to become a patient representative should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English. Requirements are different and depend on the employer, but most prefer college graduates with backgrounds in health or social services. Experience or course work in conflict resolution is also valued.

I don’t think I would like to become a patient representative because it sound boring for me and it doesn’t interest me at all.

"Persistence can change failure into extraordinary achievement."                                         -Matt Biondi

I believe this quote means that as long as you don't give up on your goals no matter how many times you fail you ill achieve what you want in the end. For example if you want to get a certain number on a mile run you might not achieve it the first time you try to get that time but if you keep on pushing yourself one day you'll be able to run the mile in the time you wanted. Persistence is important because its what keeps you going and what makes you achieve great things no matter how many times you fail. If you don't have persistence you will fail in anything and you will not be likely to achieve those great things you want.

They use accepted methods of diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases. They practice in all branches of medicine and surgery like allopathic physicians however they are different by emphasizing the importance of the musculoskeletal system, holistic medicine, proper nutrition, and environmental factors in maintaining good health. They often use hands-on approach to medicine. They usually work at osteopathic hospitals or private practice, but now many allopathic hospitals are accepting osteopathic physicians as staff members.

Average Salary: $110,000

Education:

Students who would like to become an osteopathic physician should take the most challenging high school courses (including AP and IB courses) available in math, science, and English. After three or four years of college, physicians must attend medical school. Undergraduate requirements to enter medical school are one year of basic chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, one year of biology, and one year of physics. Some medical schools might also require course work in calculus, English, the humanities, or social science.  Medical school usually includes two years of additional study in both basic and clinical sciences and then is followed by a one year hospital internship. Afterwards physicians who want to specialize must undertake a three-year residency in their specialty.

I’m not really sure if I would like to become an osteopathic physician because I would like to work in a laboratory, but this interests me a bit, but I wouldn't want to do the surgery part.

Student Success Statement

"The answers to these questions will determine your success or failure:
1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
2. Am I committed to doing my very best?
3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
If the answers to these questions are YES there is no way you can fail."
                                    -Lou Holtz

Yes, people can trust me to do what's right I want to be successful and to be it you have to do what's right that's why people can trust me to do what's right. I am committed to doing my very best because I know that if I want to be successful I have to do everything to my full potential. Since I want to be treated well I treat people that way because I don't want people to be mean to me so I'm not mean to anyone because i do treat people the way I want to be treated. I honestly do believe that all the answers for these questions for me are yes.

I don’t think I would like to become an optometrist because I don’t find it very interesting for me and because I really don’t want a career in treating vision problems.

J.F Kennedy Video Reflection

In the video president Kennedy said that he wanted all Americans to be physically active so they can stay healthy and be able to gain greatness for the country. He spoke about wanting students from all school districts in the country to be physically active because he doesn't want a bunch of spectators, he wants everyone to be out in the field. I will not have any drugs and won't give in to anything that would be bad for my health. I will continue to participate in my physical education class to be able to be healthy.

Student Success Statement

"Physical Fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what Greek knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."                                                   - President John F. Kennedy

I believe this quote means that you have to be a healthy and strong to be able to achieve greatness. For example if you start  making your body dependent on drugs then you might never accomplish the goals you had set your mind to. You need to be able to be strong to be able to overcome obstacles put in your way. If you are weak then you'll give up easily when obstacles are put in your way. If you're sick you really can't learn and do things.

I don’t think I would like to become an optician because I don’t find it as a interesting career for me.

Student Success Statement

"No student ever attains eminent success by simply doing what is required of him/her, it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction."                                                                                                                                             - Charles Kendall Adams, American Historian

I think this quote means that if you actually want to be successful in life you have to do more than what is expected of you. If you just do what is expected of you you will be average you will be doing the same thing that the rest are doing. You must go beyond what is expected of you to actually be able to stand out. For example if your teacher tells you to do just the odd numbers of a worksheet why not also do the evens, you would be doing more than what is expected and at the same time you will be getting the extra practice on something. Its more work to go beyond average, but it's totally worth it if it makes you stand out and you're not just the student that does his/her work, you're also the student that goes beyond expected.
Optical Laboratory Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

They fit and grind eyeglasses into frames according to prescriptions written by ophthalmologists. They make the lens polished and then they fit them into the eyeglass frames. Optical laboratory technicians may work in optical laboratories or for ophthalmologists or optometrists. They may also work in retail stores that have optical departments.
Average Salary: $15,000-$20,000

Education:

Students who would like to become an optical laboratory technician must have a GED certificate or high school diploma which is needed to begin training. Training programs last between six months and one year. Some of the optical departments in retail stores offer on-the-job training.

I don’t think I would like to become an optical laboratory technician because I would like a career in which I could get a higher education and this career really doesn't interest me.

Student Success Statement

"Doing what is right, fair, and honorable, is more important than winning or losing." -Chick Moorman

I think this quote means that it doesn't matter if you lose or not as long as you always choose what is right, because choosing the right is more important than anything else. For example, You get a good score on your test, but you cheated the score really doesn't matter. If you study hard for the test and you try your best and don't cheat then even though you might not get the best score you know you tried your best and that if you hadn't tries your best it would have been worse. This quote tells us that choosing the right and not doing the wrong is more important than if you win or lose.
