I think this quote means that every time you have a decision to make you have to choose what the right thing to do is. If you're in a moment of decision don't choose the wrong, think about the consequences you would have and choose the right so you and your conscience would feel good. If your friend asks you to copy the homework and you know if you get caught you both won't get credit for the work then why do it. They chose not to do it so let them deal with the consequences. That person should've done the right thing which was do their homework on time.
