Duties and
Responsibilities:
Industrial
hygienists have to find effective methods to identify, manage, and control
risks that have to do with natural disasters, material accidents, and terrorism
events. They are vital to government agencies, private response organizations,
and local emergency planning committees. They also prevent ill health caused by
the work environment. Industrial hygienists should be committed to protecting
the health and safety of the people in the workplace and the community.
Average
Salary: $56,904- $101,434
Education:
Students who
would like to become an industrial hygienist should take challenging science
courses in high school. Students should have an undergraduate degree in one of
the sciences or engineering. They have to pass a written examination from the
American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
I don't think I would like to become an industrial hygienist because it doesn’t seem really interesting for me and I rather work in a laboratory.
