Health Sciences Librarian
Duties and
Responsibilities:
They collect
and organize health information and help practitioners find the information
they need for patient care, education, research, and administration. Health sciences librarians organize the
information into collections. They also coordinate and control budgets and supervise
library technicians.
$20,000-
$30,000 (Library technicians)
$35,000-
$55,000 (Librarians)
Education:
Students who
would like to become a health sciences librarian should take the most challenging
high school courses in information management, science, math, and English. Many employers of library technicians give you
on the job training however they do prefer if you complete a library technician
program at a community college. To
become a librarian you should earn an undergraduate degree in one of the life
sciences, and must earn a master’s degree in library science.
I wouldn’t
like to become a library technician or librarian because it seems a little
boring to me and it doesn’t interest me.
