Occupational Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities:

They help patients mentally, emotionally, or physically disabled adjust to handicaps and regain abilities to perform daily living and skills of self-care. Occupational therapists work with physicians, counselors, and physical therapists as a team. They design therapy programs and work closely on observing, helping, and monitoring the patient’s progress. Many of the occupational therapists work at hospitals and nursing homes and some may work at schools for the handicapped, rehabilitation centers, and adult daycare centers.

Average Salary: $26,000- $45,000

Education:

Students should take the most challenging high school courses in math, science, and English.  You are required to have a bachelor’s degree or/and master’s degree that includes clinical experience and completion of a national examination to become certified.

I don’t think I would want to be an occupational therapist because I want a career in which I could work in a laboratory and this career really doesn't interest me.
