"Kindness is the essence of greatness." -Joseph B. Wirthlin I believe this quote means that to be knd is the greatest success you can reach in life. Kindness is what makes you great. For example if you're a millionaire, but don't like giving money to charity or you just pass by a homeless person and don't have compassion for that person no one cares anymore if you're rich or no they care if you're kind. If a person who barely is making enough money to survive gives something to a homeless person it is showing their greatness and that what other people see the kind thing you have done. People don't like others you are selfish and don't think about helping others, you have to be kind no matter what because even if you don't get a reward as in like money or something material you atleast get the satisfaction that you did something for someone else.
