Student Success Statement

"No student ever attains eminent success by simply doing what is required of him/her, it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction."                                                                                                                                             - Charles Kendall Adams, American Historian

I think this quote means that if you actually want to be successful in life you have to do more than what is expected of you. If you just do what is expected of you you will be average you will be doing the same thing that the rest are doing. You must go beyond what is expected of you to actually be able to stand out. For example if your teacher tells you to do just the odd numbers of a worksheet why not also do the evens, you would be doing more than what is expected and at the same time you will be getting the extra practice on something. Its more work to go beyond average, but it's totally worth it if it makes you stand out and you're not just the student that does his/her work, you're also the student that goes beyond expected.
